A Wine Tasting Evening at Mullions in Street
The Mullions 51 wine tasting night felt a bit like being invited into someone’s living room… if that someone had an excellent wine supplier and a very good chef.
We rocked up as Em & Woz with cameras in hand and were instantly hit with that cosy, slightly buzzy energy – small groups claiming their tables, bottles lined up at the bar, and that low hum of “What are we drinking first?” floating around the room.
Glasses were poured, noses went into glasses (some more confidently than others), and pretty quickly the room filled with the sound of “Ooh, I like that one” and “Wait, which one was this again?”. We moved between tables catching all the good stuff: the raised eyebrows at a surprise favourite, the friends who clearly hadn’t seen each other in ages, the laughter getting just a little louder with every pour.
One of our favourite parts of the evening was nipping into the kitchen to photograph the Mullions 51 team at work – plates being dressed, sauces finished, everything timed to land perfectly with the wine. Front‑of‑house was all chat and clinking glasses; behind the scenes was all focus, timing and a lot of teamwork.
If you’re hunting for a Somerset night out that isn’t just “go for dinner, go home”, keep an eye on the Mullions 51 events – these tasting evenings are such a good mix of relaxed, a bit treat‑y and properly delicious. And if you spot us there again with cameras, come say hi (preferably between courses, not mid‑mouthful of pinot).
Phoebe and Max
We had an absolute blast photographing Phoebe and Max’s stunning New Year's Eve wedding! What a celebration it was! It was especially meaningful for me to capture their day, as the wedding took place in the village where I grew up and still have many ties. I loved following the bride to the church, where guests were greeted with mulled wine and mince pies. Woz was already there, ready to greet the bride, and the whole event had such a relaxed, fun vibe with plenty of champagne flowing. The reception took place at Phoebe’s family home, where the festivities carried on well into the night and where we were privy to witness a four man worm on the dance floor! Thank you for allowing us to capture such a beautiful and unforgettable wedding - it was truly a joy!
A Garden Festival with Emily and Ferdinand!
Emily and Ferdinand’s garden festival wedding was a riot of colour and pure summer joy — bright marquees popping against lush green lawns, wildflowers everywhere, and that free-spirited energy that turned their country garden into the perfect party spot.
Festival garden chaos
Their own country garden became the full backdrop — rolling lawns, established trees framing it all, and a festival vibe that felt less like a formal wedding and more like the best bank holiday gathering you’ve ever crashed. Brightly coloured tents dotted the space, strung with fairy lights and bunting, giving shade for drinks and dinner while keeping everything open to the sky.
Bright, bold details
Think vivid rugs on the grass, mismatched chairs, pom poms hanging from branches, and tables heaving under the weight of sharing platters. The florals went big — jewel‑toned dahlias, sunflowers and loosestrife spilling out of every vase, picked to echo the wild edges of the garden itself. It was unpretentious, loud with colour, and completely them.
Drinks under canvas
As guests arrived, the marquees filled with laughter over fizz and gin, kids running loops around the lawn, adults kicking off shoes and sinking into the grass. That sofa under the willows became a magnet for photo ops — guests sprawling out, grins wide, framed by trailing branches and dappled light. That loose, festival flow let everyone drift — from shaded bars to open croquet patches, with us catching the unguarded chats and those first warm‑up dances as the sun dipped.
Feasting & festival night
Dinner spread out family‑style under the main marquee, long tables lit by lanterns, music filtering through speakers rigged in the trees. Speeches landed easy between mouthfuls, then the band kicked in proper — full festival setup with a wooden dance floor laid right on the lawn. Marquees stayed busy for breathers, but most spilled out to dance barefoot under the stars, garden borders glowing in the dusk.
Why their garden worked
No venue could’ve beaten this. Their country garden gave total freedom — marquees for cover, colour everywhere, space to roam, that sofa under the willows stealing every casual shot. Emily and Ferdinand shaped every bit of it into their own wild, bright world. Proper festival heart, no corners cut, just them and theirs from golden hour right through to the last slow song.
Tom and Lou
What a beautiful summer wedding for Tom and Lou! Woz and I had an amazing time photographing this special day at Yurtcamp in Devon. I’ve probably mentioned this a few times, but I really hope this blog post highlights just how much having two photographers can offer with capturing different perspectives of your wedding day. While Woz was with Tom and his groomsmen, documenting their prep, I spent the morning with Lou and her wonderful bridesmaids, capturing their moments. It was so lovely to see both sides of the preparations.
Lou looked absolutely stunning in her elegant two-piece wedding outfit, paired with a gorgeous 1920s-style bolero which I'm seriously obsessed with it! Tom looked incredibly sharp in his suit and bow tie. Friends and family gathered from near and far, especially Tom’s family who traveled all the way from Australia - Tom’s Australian roots might have something to do with that! It was a truly fantastic day—so relaxed and full of joy. We had the best time and it was a pleasure getting to know these two. Huge congratulations to Tom and Lou!
Zoe and James
Zoe and James’ wedding day was one of those easy, joy‑soaked Bristol stories — city buzz in the morning, countryside calm by evening, hot air balloons drifting across the sky like something out of a film, and Eddie the golden retriever trotting along as part of the whole joyful crew. Zoe got ready at the Harbour Hotel in Bristol, all soft light, tiled bathrooms and that relaxed, pre‑ceremony chaos with her favourite people around her.
City heart, grand ceremony
Their ceremony took place at Bristol Register Office in the Mayoral Room — a grand yet intimate space lined with paintings of former Bristol mayors and centred around an ornate fireplace that gives everything a real sense of occasion. The room felt formal in the best way, but still warm and personal as they said their vows.
After the ceremony, everyone spilled outside and gathered on the steps, the classic Bristol backdrop framing hugs, confetti and those just‑married grins — Eddie bounding about, tail wagging through it all! It’s one of those spots that works perfectly for relaxed, documentary‑style photos — nothing too staged, just the buzz of friends, family and furry friend around them.
On the hill, pure countryside
On the way to the reception, we took a detour to the top of a hill in a park — a very special and poignant place for Zoe. They took a breather there, remembering loved ones in the quiet. It was a lovely time spent with them both, with rolling hills and wildflowers framing those heartfelt portraits.
Doynton village hall, big skies and balloons
Their reception was held in the village hall in Doynton — a beautiful, sleepy spot where the hall sits at the heart of everything and the views roll out for miles. Inside, the space was filled with personal touches, handmade details and the kind of styling that feels less like an event and more like a gathering of all the best people (and dogs) in their lives. Lint rollers on hand!
As the evening drew in, the sky started to fill with colour: hot air balloons from the Bristol Balloon Festival floated across the horizon, perfectly framed behind the hall and fields. Zoe and James stepped outside with Eddie at their heels and we made the most of it — them in the foreground, balloons drifting in the distance, a proper Bristol moment wrapped into their Doynton village‑hall wedding. It was the perfect blend of city, countryside and a whole lot of heart, exactly the kind of day that feels true to them from start to finish.
Jess and Owen
This was a wedding which I had the honour of capturing back in July. What I absolutely love about photographing weddings is that each one is uniquely beautiful in its own way. Every couple brings something distinct to their special day, and this couple certainly did it their way - it was truly magnificent! The weather was certainly all over the place on this day, with sunny moments mixed with heavy downpours, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day. Their ceremony was incredibly moving, featuring personal vows, hand fasting, other enchanting rituals and a beautiful unrehearsed speech by their little girl. I have to say one of my favourite moments of their was seeing this beautiful couple jump over the broomstick, a traditional English custom. It was absolutely wonderful! I wish them nothing but happiness as they begin their journey together. It was an absolute privilege to capture such a special ceremony! Thank you!

Yard Act at Bristol!
As our blog might show, we love live music, and one of the best live bands out there at the moment is Yard Act…they just keep getting better and better!
There’s often restrictions on what camera you are allowed to bring into a gig - if you’re allowed one at all. In this case, I was allowed to bring my X-Pro with just one small lens (27mm if you’re interested!) but as we were right at the front centre, this worked really well!
Bronwyn and David
Bronwyn and David’s breathtaking bohemian wedding was an absolute joy to be a part of! These two are such a special couple, and we were truly honoured to capture their day, especially their prep in the stunning house where they were staying. It was just the two of them, along with their adorable baby daughter. One of the most heartwarming moments was when David helped Bronwyn into her dress—it was a beautiful, emotional touch.
Their intimate and meaningful ceremony took place at St. Clements Church in Ashampstead, a place very dear to Bronwyn. Afterward, they shared a lovely lunch at The Crown & Anchor in Ham, Wiltshire. The entire day was truly magical, and we wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!
Dezzaray and Howard
Dezzaray and Howard's wedding at Highcliffe Castle in Dorset was absolutely stunning. The venue offered breathtaking views of The Needles off the coast of the Isle of Wight. We began the day capturing their preparations in a charming, quirky house in Bournemouth, which was full of warmth and love, especially with so many of their family and friends present - particularly Dezzaray’s parents and relatives who had flown in from Canada.
When we first met Dezzaray and Howard (along with their adorable dog, Bannick) for their engagement shoot, we went to a beautiful bluebell wood just outside Sherborne. During the shoot, they shared the exciting news that they were expecting their first child, and we were absolutely thrilled for them! This news meant that their wedding plans shifted a little, especially regarding the dress. Dezzaray looked absolutely radiant in a figure hugging gown that perfectly showcased her beautiful baby bump. We loved popping down to the beach to have a quick dip in the sea! It was truly a day filled with joy, and both Dezzaray and Howard made us feel incredibly included in the celebrations.
Young Fathers for Teenage Cancer Trust at The Royal Albert Hall
Young Fathers are a force of nature live - I can’t really put them in a catagory, but they have a lot of drums!
Having worked for Teenage Cancer Trust in the past, this was quite special to me - the work they do is truly amazing and so important…and they also support stand up comedy and live music, so what could be better.
Feeling Christmassy at Cat and Sam's Gorgeous Wedding!
If you’re going to do a Christmas wedding then do it like the Frosts! Cat and Sam Frost created the most perfect Christmas Wedding in Tormarton near Westonburt Arboretum - everything from the decor, to Cat’s dress, to the white snowy confetti had a touch of Christmas to it!
Their sweet ceremony took place in a packed orangery at the The Compass Inn which looked gorgeous with all the light streaming in. Considering the time of year we were very lucky with the weather which gave us lots of opportunities to photograph them outside for the group shots and the confetti run!
After their delicious sit down meal and the funniest of speeches especially Sam’s regarding how their first date went (getting stuck on Brean beach!) they did their first dance which I am happy to say was choreographed brilliantly! With Cat being a dancer Sam had some work cut out but oh my did they pull it off! Sam didn’t dance like he was holding a wardrobe and they both did an amazing job…we even caught the Dirty Dancing moment! It was great fun and the dance floor was filled until the end of the night.
It was such a beautiful wedding day spent with an absolutely awesome couple.
Holly and Jasper saying 'I do' at The Manor by the Lake
What a welcome to the New Year I had! Holly and Jasper’s gorgeous wedding at the Manor by the Lake near Cheltenham. A stunning Victorian manor house steeped in history and set in acres of grounds.
The bridal prep was particularly lovely with Holly’s two bridesmaids and her parents - whom were glowing with absolute pride of their daughter…well she did look like an absolute goddess!
As all the preparations took place at the venue I could flit to and fro from the bridal prep to the groomsmen who had found the jukebox and pool table! Everyone was such a joy to photograph - so many smiles and laughter to be heard.
Holly walked down the aisle with her parents which was a lovely touch and I must admit it was one of the funniest yet emotional ceremonies that I have photographed - I won’t say why on here…slightly rude! Although I was only covering part of their day, everyone made me feel so welcome and it was such a privilege to be their photographer.
A beautiful summer wedding with Neil and Siobhan at Pennard House
I met this lovely couple a few months before their wedding day in the Who’d A Thought It in Glastonbury over a drink. As soon as they walked through the door I knew that they were going to be great fun to work with! Neil and Siobhan wanted an intimate September wedding with lots and lots of personal touches. This was most apparent with the amazing crocheted button holes, table decorations and Siobhan’s beautiful bouquet! I had the absolute joyous time of photographing Siobhan’s bridal prep at her parents house - with her two sisters, nieces and her mum and dad. Whilst I was happy snapping the prep - Woz was able to capture Neil laying out a sumptuous array of fruit, the most amazing cheeses and biscuits…in fact the wedding cake was itself a stack of delicious cheese!
Pennard House is a stones throw from where we live and we’ve been fortunate to shoot there a few times over the years. It’s a gorgeous property with beautiful grounds which are perfect for outdoor weddings and lovely photographs. The house has a real homely feel about it, with open fireplaces and period furniture as you can see in the following photographs. The light is particularly lovely, and something we photographers notice and relish!
The wedding ceremony was a real family occasion with lots of laughter and tears, and also a real scorcher of a day! So hot in fact that we were all diving for cover at every given opportunity! But hey we won’t complain after the rainy summer we had! Neil and Siobhan are totally adorable and we immediately felt welcomed into their fold, which we loved!
Morgan & Beth — D&D Themed Wedding at Ashridge Great Barn, Devon | Em & Woz, Somerset Wedding Photographers
This one was right up our quirky street — and as Somerset wedding photographers who love a wedding with real personality, Ashridge Great Barn in Devon delivered in every possible way.! A gorgeous location, a beautiful couple, stunning colours and swords!
Nestled in the hills of the Devonshire countryside, Ashridge Great Barn is a real hidden gem for couples wanting to have a full weekend of celebrations away from all the hustle and bustle.
Morgan and Beth are very much our kind of people! In the morning they had their ‘official’ bit of the day with Beth wearing the most fabulous pink pj’s! It was so intimate and such a sweet ceremony. In the afternoon they held an outdoor hand fastening ceremony in the Magic Circle amongst the trees (and it really did feel magic up there). Beth looked beautiful in her silk dress she had hand made along with a stunning long pink veil to compliment it (being a dressmaker helps!). The ceremony was officiated by their close friend Dimi who did an amazing job! The day was awesomely relaxed, special and emotional with family and friends surrounding them.
The October day was so warm without a cloud in the sky which gave the perfect opportunity for the guests to drink champers, eat canapés, play games on the grounds and of course have a sword fight…the first for us! Which was great fun and thankfully no limbs were lost!
The Great Barn has been beautifully renovated while keeping it full of history like witches marks carved into the brick walls! Morgan and Beth really put their stamp on the venue with the interior brilliantly styled with Dungeons and Dragons decor, paper lanterns and a fab 70’s sparkly curtain - it looked utterly amazing!
It was such a privilege to spend the whole day with Morgan and Beth at Ashridge Great Barn capturing their truly special day. If you're planning something a little unconventional in Devon or anywhere across the South West, we'd absolutely love to hear from you."

Meg & Jules’ Musical Wedding - Coombe Lodge Wedding Photography, Near Bristol | Em & Woz, Somerset Wedding Photographers
Some weddings have a feeling you can't quite put your finger on — a warmth that fills every room and follows you home afterwards. Meg and Jules' wedding at Coombe Lodge near Bristol was exactly that kind of day.
Coombe Lodge is a beautiful venue tucked into the North Somerset countryside just outside Bristol, and it suited Meg and Jules perfectly — relaxed, characterful, and full of soul. Em & Woz were there from the early preparations through to the last dance, and from the very first moment it was clear this was a wedding shaped entirely by the people in it.
The details told the story beautifully. Meg wore a stunning Willowby gown with Charlotte Mills shoes, flowers were by The Rambling Rose, and the wedding cake was made by Harriet — Meg's youngest sister and maid of honour. Hair and makeup were by the brilliant Evie Smith. Jules' suit was by Gabucci of Bath.
But the moment that made this wedding truly unforgettable came in the evening. Rather than a band or a DJ, Meg and Jules handed the floor to their guests — and what followed was something we've never quite experienced before. Friends and family took turns to perform: different people, different songs, different styles, all of them pouring something of themselves into the celebration. It was joyful, moving, and completely unique. By the end of the night there wasn't a single person in that room who hadn't felt part of something special.
Meg put it better than we ever could:
Dear Em & Woz,
AHHHH!!!!
It’s not easy to put in to words what you’ve given us, but simply put, it’s beyond what we could ever have dreamed for. Thank you thank you thank you thank you! You couldn’t have put us more at ease, or have been more ever-present on our day. Truly, it’s like a window through to our favourite day, without the fogginess of our stress and anxiety. We are all so grateful for both of you, for being there practically from dawn till dusk, through to the beautiful edits we’ve just received. Seeing the whole day from start to finish from multiple angles, and seeing interactions between our loved ones that we didn’t get to see ourselves is pure magic. Our families are over the moon, and our friends will be too when we send them off with our thank yous.
We will be ranting and raving to anyone looking for the 2 loveliest, world-class photographers, and we will of course leave a glowing review anywhere you’d like.
Thank you again, we couldn’t be happier, and will be enjoying these photos for years to come.
Until the next big party!!
All the best,
Meg & Jules
Thank you Meg and Jules! We'll never forget this lovely day, or you lovely people! xxx

Melissa & Nick - The Mount Without Wedding Photography, Bristol | Em & Woz, Somerset Wedding Photographers
Em & Woz didn't really know much about The Mount Without when Melissa and Nick first got in touch"- we’d obviously seen the commanding church sitting atop the hill in Bristol, but we didn’t know just how amazing it is inside! Thankfully Melissa and Nick found it, and then found us to photograph them!
They had chosen to spend the whole day in the venue - the main church was used for the ceremony, followed by some photos then drinks in the crypt below! While we were doing that, the church was prepared for the wedding breakfast.
We then popped out with Melissa and Nick for some pictures on the streets of Bristol, including the beautiful Christmas Steps — one of Bristol's most characterful hidden corners, and just a short walk from The Mount Without.
The evening celebrations were back in the crypt which is so atmospheric and cool! It's obviously very dark, but with our cameras and the occasional discreet flash, you can see we captured the celebrations right to the end! If you're getting married at The Mount Without, or anywhere across Bristol and the South West, we'd love to hear from you.

Environmental Family Shoot
We do love a family shoot outdoors in Nature! Especially lovely are photographs out in the woodlands with kids doing what kids do and being relaxed and natural!
