Frequently Asked Questions

How would you describe your style of photography?

We're documentary wedding photographers based in Somerset — which means we focus on capturing your day exactly as it unfolds, rather than directing or posing you. You'll hear us use words like natural, relaxed, candid, photojournalistic and timeless, but really it boils down to this: we blend in, we stay quiet, and we catch the real moments. The look on your mum's face during the speeches. The chaos of the first dance. The quiet moment you steal together before the reception. That's what we're here for.

If you're after something heavily staged or very editorial, we're probably not the right fit — but if you want photographs that actually feel like your wedding day, we'd love to chat.

Where are you based, and how far will you travel?

We're based in Somerset and photograph weddings all across the South West, including Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire, Bristol and beyond. Travel is included in our packages for weddings within Somerset and neighbouring counties, and we genuinely love an excuse to explore further afield too — so if you're planning something further away, just get in touch and we'll work something out. Destination weddings? Yes please.

Do you do group shots?

Absolutely — and we're good at them! We completely understand that a wedding is often the one occasion when certain family members or friends are all in the same place, so those group shots matter. Our advice is to come prepared with a list of the combinations you want, and to nominate someone with a loud voice to round people up (we can do this, but we don’t know who’s who!). We work quickly and efficiently so your guests aren't standing around for ages — we want everyone back having fun as soon as possible.

How many photographers will be at our wedding?

Two! We love to shoot together as a duo, and this is included in every full-day package at no extra cost. Having two photographers means you get twice the coverage and twice the angles — we can be in two places at once, which is particularly brilliant for capturing both sets of bridal and groom preparations, and for making sure nothing gets missed during the ceremony or reception. It also means you're never left with just one photographer if one of us is unwell on the day.

What happens if one of you is ill on the day?

This is one of the best reasons to book a two-photographer team! You're guaranteed at least one of us there no matter what. And if you'd still like two photographers on the day, we have a trusted network of excellent photographers we can call on to step in. It's one less thing to worry about.

How many photos will we receive?

We don't put a hard cap on numbers — we'd rather give you everything that tells the story of your day beautifully than cut things short. For a full-day wedding you can typically expect several hundred fully edited images. Every photo we deliver is individually retouched to a high standard — we don't just hand over raw files or do a bulk auto-edit.

How long until we get our photos?

We know the wait is one of the hardest parts! Within approximately 72 hours of your wedding day, we'll send over a preview set of images so you've got something to share while we're working on the full gallery. The complete set of fully edited photographs is then delivered within 4–6 weeks. We take the editing seriously — every image is retouched individually — so the wait is worth it, we promise.

How do we receive our photos?

Your images are delivered via a private online gallery, from which you can download high-resolution files and share with friends and family. You'll receive full printing rights, so you're free to print your photos wherever and however you like.

Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding shoots?

Yes, and we'd highly recommend them! A pre-wedding shoot is a brilliant way for us all to get comfortable together before the big day. If you're a bit camera-shy (we hear this a lot!), it makes a world of difference to have already spent an hour or two with us before your wedding. You'll know what to expect, we'll get a feel for how you two are together, and everyone's more relaxed on the day. Get in touch to find out more.

What camera equipment do you use?

We shoot with Fujifilm X-series and G-Series cameras — currently the X-T5 and GFX100SII — and a selection of prime lenses. We love the Fuji system for a few reasons: the cameras are exceptionally quiet (perfect for ceremonies), they're compact enough not to feel intimidating, and the image quality is stunning. We each carry multiple camera bodies so there's always a backup ready to go.

Do you only shoot weddings?

Weddings are our main love, but we also shoot family portraits, maternity sessions, parties, celebrations, gigs and events. If you've got a moment worth capturing, get in touch and let's talk.

Are you insured?

Yes, fully. We carry both public liability insurance and personal indemnity cover, so you can book with complete peace of mind.

How do we book you?

Drop us a message via our Contact page! We'd love to have a chat — whether you're ready to book or just exploring your options. We'll ask a few questions about your day, talk through our packages, and if we're a good fit we'll get a date in the diary. Dates do get snapped up, so if you have your eye on us, don't leave it too long!

What areas do you cover?

We're based in Somerset and regularly photograph weddings across the South West — including venues in Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Bristol and Bath. We've shot at barns, manor houses, coastal venues, festival fields, village churches and everything in between. If your venue isn't on that list, just ask — we're happy to travel.
