Documentary Wedding Photographers in Bristol

Bristol is one of our favourite places to photograph a wedding. It's a city that does things on its own terms — creative, characterful, and full of venues that suit couples who want something real rather than something from a catalogue. Which, as it happens, is exactly the kind of wedding we love to shoot!

We're Em and Woz, a duo of documentary wedding photographers based in Somerset. We cover Bristol and the wider South West regularly, and we bring something a little different to the table: there are two of us, included as standard in every full-day package. That means both sets of preparations covered at the same time, twice the angles throughout the day, and a much more complete story of everything that happened from morning to last dance.

Bristol weddings have a particular energy to them. Whether it's the light flooding into a converted Victorian space, the warmth of a country house on the city's edge, or the easy, relaxed atmosphere that Bristol couples tend to bring to their day — it makes for genuinely brilliant documentary photography. We don't pose you, we don't interrupt the flow of your day, and we don't manufacture moments. We just watch, move quietly, and keep our cameras where the action is.

We've shot at some wonderful venues in and around Bristol, from the striking Mount Without in the Old City to the lush grounds of Coombe Lodge in the Mendips, and the beautiful Berwick Lodge tucked into the edge of the city. Each of those days had a completely different feel — and that's what documentary photography is for.
