Dezzaray and Howard
Dezzaray and Howard's wedding at Highcliffe Castle in Dorset was absolutely stunning. The venue offered breathtaking views of The Needles off the coast of the Isle of Wight. We began the day capturing their preparations in a charming, quirky house in Bournemouth, which was full of warmth and love, especially with so many of their family and friends present - particularly Dezzaray’s parents and relatives who had flown in from Canada.
When we first met Dezzaray and Howard (along with their adorable dog, Bannick) for their engagement shoot, we went to a beautiful bluebell wood just outside Sherborne. During the shoot, they shared the exciting news that they were expecting their first child, and we were absolutely thrilled for them! This news meant that their wedding plans shifted a little, especially regarding the dress. Dezzaray looked absolutely radiant in a figure hugging gown that perfectly showcased her beautiful baby bump. We loved popping down to the beach to have a quick dip in the sea! It was truly a day filled with joy, and both Dezzaray and Howard made us feel incredibly included in the celebrations.
Young Fathers for Teenage Cancer Trust at The Royal Albert Hall
Young Fathers are a force of nature live - I can’t really put them in a catagory, but they have a lot of drums!
Having worked for Teenage Cancer Trust in the past, this was quite special to me - the work they do is truly amazing and so important…and they also support stand up comedy and live music, so what could be better.
Feeling Christmassy at Cat and Sam's Gorgeous Wedding!
If you’re going to do a Christmas wedding then do it like the Frosts! Cat and Sam Frost created the most perfect Christmas Wedding in Tormarton near Westonburt Arboretum - everything from the decor, to Cat’s dress, to the white snowy confetti had a touch of Christmas to it!
Their sweet ceremony took place in a packed orangery at the The Compass Inn which looked gorgeous with all the light streaming in. Considering the time of year we were very lucky with the weather which gave us lots of opportunities to photograph them outside for the group shots and the confetti run!
After their delicious sit down meal and the funniest of speeches especially Sam’s regarding how their first date went (getting stuck on Brean beach!) they did their first dance which I am happy to say was choreographed brilliantly! With Cat being a dancer Sam had some work cut out but oh my did they pull it off! Sam didn’t dance like he was holding a wardrobe and they both did an amazing job…we even caught the Dirty Dancing moment! It was great fun and the dance floor was filled until the end of the night.
It was such a beautiful wedding day spent with an absolutely awesome couple.
Holly and Jasper saying 'I do' at The Manor by the Lake
What a welcome to the New Year I had! Holly and Jasper’s gorgeous wedding at the Manor by the Lake near Cheltenham. A stunning Victorian manor house steeped in history and set in acres of grounds.
The bridal prep was particularly lovely with Holly’s two bridesmaids and her parents - whom were glowing with absolute pride of their daughter…well she did look like an absolute goddess!
As all the preparations took place at the venue I could flit to and fro from the bridal prep to the groomsmen who had found the jukebox and pool table! Everyone was such a joy to photograph - so many smiles and laughter to be heard.
Holly walked down the aisle with her parents which was a lovely touch and I must admit it was one of the funniest yet emotional ceremonies that I have photographed - I won’t say why on here…slightly rude! Although I was only covering part of their day, everyone made me feel so welcome and it was such a privilege to be their photographer.
A beautiful summer wedding with Neil and Siobhan at Pennard House
I met this lovely couple a few months before their wedding day in the Who’d A Thought It in Glastonbury over a drink. As soon as they walked through the door I knew that they were going to be great fun to work with! Neil and Siobhan wanted an intimate September wedding with lots and lots of personal touches. This was most apparent with the amazing crocheted button holes, table decorations and Siobhan’s beautiful bouquet! I had the absolute joyous time of photographing Siobhan’s bridal prep at her parents house - with her two sisters, nieces and her mum and dad. Whilst I was happy snapping the prep - Woz was able to capture Neil laying out a sumptuous array of fruit, the most amazing cheeses and biscuits…in fact the wedding cake was itself a stack of delicious cheese!
Pennard House is a stones throw from where we live and we’ve been fortunate to shoot there a few times over the years. It’s a gorgeous property with beautiful grounds which are perfect for outdoor weddings and lovely photographs. The house has a real homely feel about it, with open fireplaces and period furniture as you can see in the following photographs. The light is particularly lovely, and something we photographers notice and relish!
The wedding ceremony was a real family occasion with lots of laughter and tears, and also a real scorcher of a day! So hot in fact that we were all diving for cover at every given opportunity! But hey we won’t complain after the rainy summer we had! Neil and Siobhan are totally adorable and we immediately felt welcomed into their fold, which we loved!
D&D themed wedding at Ashridge Great Barn in Devon
This one was right up our quirky street! A gorgeous location, a beautiful couple, stunning colours and swords!
Nestled in the hills of the Devonshire countryside, Ashridge Great Barn is a real hidden gem for couples wanting to have a full weekend of celebrations away from all the hustle and bustle.
Morgan and Beth are very much our kind of people! In the morning they had their ‘official’ bit of the day with Beth wearing the most fabulous pink pj’s! It was so intimate and such a sweet ceremony. In the afternoon they held an outdoor hand fastening ceremony in the Magic Circle amongst the trees (and it really did feel magic up there). Beth looked beautiful in her silk dress she had hand made along with a stunning long pink veil to compliment it (being a dressmaker helps!). The ceremony was officiated by their close friend Dimi who did an amazing job! The day was awesomely relaxed, special and emotional with family and friends surrounding them.
The October day was so warm without a cloud in the sky which gave the perfect opportunity for the guests to drink champers, eat canapés, play games on the grounds and of course have a sword fight…the first for us! Which was great fun and thankfully no limbs were lost!
The Great Barn has been beautifully renovated while keeping it full of history like witches marks carved into the brick walls! Morgan and Beth really put their stamp on the venue with the interior brilliantly styled with Dungeons and Dragons decor, paper lanterns and a fab 70’s sparkly curtain - it looked utterly amazing!
It was such a privilege to spend the whole day with Morgan and Beth capturing their truly special day.

Meg and Jules’ musical wedding at Coombe Lodge near Bristol
Just a perfect wedding at Coombe Lodge near Bristol.
I’ll let Meg’s lovely words to us do the talking:
Dear Em & Woz,
AHHHH!!!!
It’s not easy to put in to words what you’ve given us, but simply put, it’s beyond what we could ever have dreamed for. Thank you thank you thank you thank you! You couldn’t have put us more at ease, or have been more ever-present on our day. Truly, it’s like a window through to our favourite day, without the fogginess of our stress and anxiety. We are all so grateful for both of you, for being there practically from dawn till dusk, through to the beautiful edits we’ve just received. Seeing the whole day from start to finish from multiple angles, and seeing interactions between our loved ones that we didn’t get to see ourselves is pure magic. Our families are over the moon, and our friends will be too when we send them off with our thank yous.
We will be ranting and raving to anyone looking for the 2 loveliest, world-class photographers, and we will of course leave a glowing review anywhere you’d like.
Thank you again, we couldn’t be happier, and will be enjoying these photos for years to come.
Until the next big party!!
All the best,
Meg & Jules
Melissa and Nick at The Mount Without in Bristol
We didn’t really know much about The Mount Without when Melissa and Nick first got in touch - we’d obviously seen the commanding church sitting atop the hill in Bristol, but we didn’t know just how amazing it is inside! Thankfully Melissa and Nick found it, and then found us to photograph them!
They had chosen to spend the whole day in the venue - the main church was used for the ceremony, followed by some photos then drinks in the crypt below! While we were doing that, the church was prepared for the wedding breakfast. We then popped out with Melissa and Nick for some pictures on the streets of Bristol, including the beautiful Christmas Steps, which are just a short walk from the venue.
The evening celebrations were back in the crypt which is so atmospheric and cool! It’s obviously very dark, but with our cameras and the occasional discrete flash, you can see we captured the celebrations right to the end!
Environmental Family Shoot
We do love a family shoot outdoors in Nature! Especially lovely are photographs out in the woodlands with kids doing what kids do and being relaxed and natural!
Glastonbury Festival!
We’re practically on Glastonbury’s doorstep (well not really! But we can cycle there with a bit of effort!) and we love to go every year. Of course we can’t go without our cameras and so here’s a small selection of shots from this year’s festival.
Penni and Brandon’s beautiful wedding at Priston Mill near Bath
Wedding and festival season is in full swing, so we’ve neglected our blogging! Trying to catch up a bit now, and here is the wonderful wedding of Penni and Brandon from April earlier this year! Penni and Brandon chose the gorgeous Priston Mill for their full day, which is a dedicated wedding venue with absolutely lovely gardens with a very pretty river running through.
As always, we shared a small set of around 50 pictures a few days after the wedding, followed by a full set in Mono and a full set in Colour a few weeks later. Here’s a small sample of Penni and Brandon’s day!
Clevedon Hall by the sea - a brilliant fun Wedding
This was the first time we’d been asked to photograph at Clevedon Hall, which is an amazing place just off the sea front with amazing gardens and a stately home in an imposing position with a view overlooking them. Aly and Carl live just south of Bristol in stunning countryside and found this venue nearby.
We met Aly and Carl some time before the wedding and arranged where we needed to be on the big day - Em went to be with Aly during the wedding preparations, held in one of the grand rooms in the Hall, while I went to meet Carl in a local pub just on the sea front by the venue. As you can see from the following set of photos, we all had a great day and we stayed until everyone was worn out, capturing the whole day for the lovely couple.
Weddding Kit - What's in our bags?
Apart from cameras and lenses, batteries and memory cards, over the years we’ve found that there’s a bunch of other things that come in very handy for different parts of the day.
Penknife
We see SO many new suits and sometimes people don’t realise that the pockets will be sewn up and need a little sharp knife to open! Also, the tails of many jackets have a little cross stitch on them to keep them neat…this is intended to be removed when you wear them! If you don’t, it’s pretty obvious you’re not a suit wearer! (Who is these days?)
Simple Sewing Kit
Accidents happen sometimes! Although I’m no tailor, we can perhaps patch up a small rip if needs be!
Crochet Hooks
Here’s a little secret weapon for those tricky buttons on the back of a wedding dress! These can be a life saver when we’re in a hurry and the dress just isn’t behaving!
Other bits and bobs
Safety Pins
Plasters
Paracetamol and Ibuprofen - we can’t dispense these as we’re not chemists, but if you have a headache we could leave one laying around for you!
Hair Grips
Scissors
The Allergies at Bristol Trinity Centre!
Once again, the amazing group The Allergies are on tour and they got in touch with Em to see if we’d like take some more photos of their gig in Bristol...of course we said yes please!
This time they were performing at The Trinity Centre in Bristol which is a fabulous converted church with a great atmosphere. Everyone had an amazing time - I think The Allergies are one of the only bands that get people dancing so much that the crowd were STILL dancing well after their set had finished and they were signing albums at the merch stand!
Bramall Hall Wedding with Kyal and Holly
Bramall hall is a beautiful, historic house located in the heart of the northern city of Preston, England. With its rich history, stunning architecture, and picturesque setting, Bramall Hall is a hidden gem that is well worth a visit for anyone interested in English heritage and architecture.
The history of Bramall Hall dates back to the 14th century, when it was originally built as a medieval manor house. Over the centuries, the building underwent several additions and renovations, and today, it stands as a stunning example of Tudor-style architecture. The house is particularly notable for its amazing timber-framed great hall, which is one of the finest examples of its kind in the country.
Kyal and Holly live locally and Holly was staying at The Village Hotel in Cheadle where Em was excited to discover Dave Masterman from the Eli’s and John podcast lives!
Woz went to meet Kyal at their house to get some prep shots, while Em met Holly and Co at the hotel.
Beautiful Wedding at Wells & Glastonbury
Rachael and Ali were married at the beautiful church of St Thomas’ in Wells last October in front of their family and friends. Now the weather man had predicted rain all day but the gods must of been smiling on these two as it hardly rained at all and the sun shone for them over the course of their day. After their ceremony I went to the Bishops Palace in Wells to take some photos of the happy couple in the grounds of this stunning venue. The Bishops Palace holds a very special place for Rachael in particular so it was only right to take some photos of them in one of her favourite places.
After Bishops Palace, we all headed off to Glastonbury Weddings And Events - a beautiful 18th century Grade II listed deconsecrated village church with views of Glastonbury Tor from the Somerset Levels. The venue is truly something to see, sat out on its own with stunning views all round.
As you can see from the photographs, it was an absolutely lovely day and the couple looked so happy!
Cornwall Wedding Photography - At Beautiful Carbis Bay!
Looking out of the window at the winter rain, this wedding seems like an age ago, but looking at this set from the lovely Dan and Chantel’s wedding in beautiful sunny Cornwall brings back all the feelings of the sun on our backs and sand (and seawater!) under our shoes!
Their whole wedding was held at Carbis Bay Hotel which is a stunning venue right on the beautiful beach of Carbis Bay near St Ives.
Located on the picturesque south coast of England, Carbis Bay Hotel is a gorgeous destination for travellers seeking a luxurious getaway. Situated just a short walk from the breathtaking Carbis Bay Beach, this hotel offers amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean and St Ives Bay.
The hotel itself is a historic building that has been beautifully renovated to offer guests the ultimate in comfort and style.
Chantel was getting ready in one of their lodges which overlooks the sea and yet is totally private. Each has its own private garden, which was a bonus for getting some pictures of the bridal party before we headed to the ceremony, which was being held in a secluded part of the hotel which also overlooks the sea (as does just about every part of the hotel!)
We were so lucky as the previous day had been extremely wet and overcast but on the day of their wedding the clouds vanished and the weather was beautiful.
After the ceremony we headed onto the beach for some hilarious photos as the wedding party really weren’t paying enough attention to the incoming tide! Everyone was laughing their heads off and it made for a great set of photos.
I have to say that both the venue and the couple were amazing and we felt extremely privileged to have been able to photograph their day!
